Visualisations

Galpin Landscape Architecture offers visualisations for schemes across the UK. These may be in the form of technical visualisations – often prepared for LVAs or for presentation of designs. Technical Visualisations are prepared following current guidelines for the preparation of LVAs.

The process involves taking accurate, geolocated site photography, preparing wirelines (or wireframes) using digital terrain models (DTMs) and then matching photographs and wirelines to produce photomontages. These are verified images and can be technically checked by third parties and stand up to scrutiny in the planning process. Visualisations can also be requested to present the design of schemes and as artist impressions of schemes.

We have prepared visualisations for:

– Business Parks: LVAs and presentations
– Golf Courses: extensive embankment design (cut and fill)
– Housing: planting and layout designs
– Leisure Parks: artists impressions and LVAs
– Other schemes: LVAs and Landscape Design

Recent Visualisation Projects

The Cove, Holgates Holiday Park

This verified viewpoint was pre-verified and post-verified! The original verified photomontage was included in the LVA and planning application. Then after planning permission was granted and the site constructed and planting planted, a further photograph was prepared as a comparison for demonstration of meeting planning requirements.

Initially the site work included verified photography and assessment for the preparation of the LVA. Then mitigation measures were required in the form of planting plans and planting specifications.

Whipps Cross Hospital HTVIA

A full Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment was prepared. This formed part of the Heritage Townscape Visual Impact Assessment (HTVIA) for a proposed buildings and hospital extension at Whipps Cross, Leytonstone Waltham Forest Borough of London.

This example included a whole suite of viewpoints prepared using a combination of photo, wire, photomontage and architectural rendering.
